You Asked, We Answered

WHERE ARE THE CHG SHARED HOMES LOCATED?

CHG shared homes are contracted with homeowners in Pierce county.

AM I REQUIRED TO SIGN A LONG TERM LEASE?

Your time with CHG is up to you.  However, we would like you to "call this home" and stay awhile, preferably long term.  Some housemates are on a month-to-month lease, 6-9 months leases, and some housemates have been with us 1 to 5 years.

ARE THERE HOUSE RULES TO ENSURE THE HOMES ARE CLEAN AND SAFE?

Absolutely.  Each housemate will sign the House Rules (HR) as part of the lease agreement.  The HR's are simple, courteous and effective to ensure safety and respect with all housemates at all times and to ensure the house runs as smoothly as possible; and that the house is well maintained and taken care of.  The HR's also lets each housemate know what is expected of each other and what is not tolerated.

HOW MANY HOUSEMATES SHARE A HOUSE?

There are several properties, so it really depends on the location and size of the house.  Our shared homes are between 5, 6 and 7 bedrooms with 5 to 8 housemates in a residence.  Sounds like too many?  Well, believe it or not, it doesn't seem that many when everyone works different schedules and lives different lifestyles and not everyone is home at the same time.

WHO CAN APPLY FOR SHARED HOUSING?

Our homes are adult shared housing.  Anyone who is over the age of 18, who has income and can pass a background check.  We are looking for people who will maintain a clean and well-maintained home.  More importantly, who can get along well in a shared home with others.

WHAT IF I DON'T HAVE GOOD CREDIT?

At CHG we understand that people may go through "life's trials" and everyone has their own story and situation.  We are willing to work with credit issues, all we ask is that you are upfront and honest so that we are better able to assist you.

DO YOU ACCEPT SECTION 8 OR THE HEN PROGRAM?

Unfortunately, we do not accept  Section 8 or the Hen programs at this time.  However, we have worked with our tenants who have received assistance with move-in costs and deposits through Coordinated Entry, Associated Ministries, Share and Care House, and Catholic Community Services.
